f | glass GmbH, Europe’s most modern and green float glass factory, is a joint venture between Scheuten and Interpane.

Not only does f | glass have a float glass production line at which float and extra clear glass are produced, it also has a coater for the application of heat reflective and antireflective coatings and a solar glass processing centre where the glass is cut, drilled and toughened.

Green factory
f | glass in Osterweddingen is one of our factories manufacturing products helping to ensure a better environment - extra clear coated glass used in modern insulating glass and solar glass products for solar panels and solar collectors. It was therefore decided to make the factory itself as “green” as possible by incorporating a number of energy-saving measures. First of all, energy consumption per tonne of molten glass is adopted as a worldwide benchmark. Almost all of the residual furnace heat is converted into electricity (1.8 MW) and even the waste gases are cleaned, to the extent that the air emitted from the chimney is even cleaner than when it entered the plant. f | glass also has a virtually closed water system ensuring very low water consumption. Finally, a 1 MW solar installation on the factory roof means that we can with every justification speak of a Green Factory.

The pure materials and the quality of the furnace used ensure that Scheuten Float is a clearer form of float glass than is standard for the industry. More information

Scheuten Super White is extra clear float glass (low iron) with a higher light transmission than Scheuten Float and is more neutral in colour. More information
