Float
More than a century ago the Moustier plant was established by the Sambre River. The production of polished glass began way back in 1884 and was turned into a continuous process 50 years later. Today the Moustier plant ranks as the world’s biggest site for the production of float glass, with four production lines and a total capacity of more than 2,500 tonnes a day. Covering an area of 45 hectares, the fully automated plant at Moustier operates night and day throughout the year producing float glass. One of these 4 production lines is partly owned by Scheuten.
Float glass is produced in large 6 x 3.21m sheets. This glass is transported to all our companies in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands for further refinement at our production facilities.
